What Do I Do If I Lost My Completion Certificate?

Published on 2021-03-29 in Driving Lessons

Making your way through the driver's license process in California can be confusing and time-consuming. You may have a lot on your plate and with all the paperwork to keep track of, you may lose something along the way. What happens if you lose your certificate of completion? Coastline Academy has your back and will help you get it replaced.

During your time with Coastline Academy, you will receive two completion certificates: one for completing the online Driver's Ed course and one for completing your driving lessons. We'll take a look at each certificate below and how we can help you get a replacement certificate if you happen to lose either one (or both)!

Pink Certificate

The first certificate you will receive is a pink certificate, which is achieved after completing the online Driver's Ed course. If you need a replacement, contact the Coastline support team. We can verify that you did complete the course and have our fulfillment team send out a new certificate of completion.

This can be done for no charge, if standard shipping. If you need the certificate quicker than standard shipping, you can pay for expedited shipping so it may arrive at your house sooner.

Yellow Certificate ("Golden Ticket")

The second certificate you can earn with Coastline Academy is for your behind-the-wheel driving lessons, which is be a yellow certificate (sometimes called a "Golden Ticket") once your six hours of driving lessons are completed. If you need a replacement, contact our support team, and they can verify that all three lessons have been completed.

How soon you need your Completion Certificate depends on when your DMV road test is. If you have time, we can mail the certificate to you using standard shipping, at no cost. If you need it quicker, you can pay for expedited shipping.

We realize that sometimes special cases happen and you may need the certificate immediately. Our Support Team will check to see if we have an available instructor that can deliver the certificate to you, for a charge.

In rare cases, you may need a copy of this yellow certificate at very short notice. The DMV offices can also be inconsistent in how they handle cases like these, but have been known to accept faxed copies of a certificate the day of a test. If the office has told you they will accept a copy printed by you, we can ask fulfillment to complete a certificate and we can email a copy to you. If the DMV office said they will accept one faxed to them directly, we can get one faxed over to the DMV. Please do not count on this, however, as you risk not being allowed to sit for your Road Test.

If you lose one of your certificates...don't panic! Instead, reach out to a member of our Support Team and they will gladly help you get this issue resolved.
