Coastline Academy To Offer Free Driver’s Ed Course To Students Impacted By Colorado Driving School Closing
Students and parents were left confused and scrambling for answers after a driving school in Colorado suddenly closed. To help alleviate some of that stress, Coastline will offer a free Driver’s Ed course to those students impacted by the Freedom Driving School closing.
According to Denver7, families had purchased packages with the driving school and even completed some of their driving lessons at Freedom Driving School. However, when they tried to log into the website to book their next lesson, the website was no longer there.
Lynsey Graham, who enrolled all three of her children at Freedom Driving School, talked with Denver7 and said, "Apparently, the owners just up and left. They don't return any phone calls. You know, we've left several voicemails, and we have no documentation of anything that we've done because everything was online. That's not fair, because it's basically fraud."
Graham is not the only one dealing with these issues, as she told Denver7 that a couple of her friends have text her asking if she was having issues with the Freedom Driving School website also.
What Steps Are Next?
As far as what these students and parents should do next, Denver7 said parents are being told to reach out to a contact with the state, which Graham said she has done. The representative from the state told Graham, "She just said that they're working, you know, night and day and trying to figure all this out and investigate what happened."
Denver7 did report that the state is trying to submit students and their progress so far to other driving schools in the area. The state is hoping these driving schools make these students a priority, as they try to complete their Boulder and Castle Rock driving lessons.
Coastline To Offer Help
Coastline Academy empathizes with those parents and students left in such a frustrating situation. They have seen the aftermath of other schools closing without notice, and it can take months for any resolution to be determined.
As instructors, staff and parents, they understand the inconvenience and want to extend a hand to help the students and families affected. Coastline Academy would like to offer the previous Freedom Driving School students free enrollment in our Driver’s Ed course. In addition, they will offer 40% off driving lessons with Coastline Academy through the end of 2022 for these same students, if they wish to continue with professional driving lessons. Students will have access to Castle Rock driving lessons, as well as driving lessons in Denver and Boulder areas.
Affected families should email hello@coastlineacademy.com, chat with Coastline’s online support staff or call 1-800-489-1896 to redeem your free driver education course and 40% off behind-the-wheel driving lessons.
“At Coastline, our first core value is ‘people first.' We are proud to be of service in the Denver and Boulder areas and hope that this can help us give back to Colorado residents that have welcomed us with open arms,” said Nigel Tunnacliffe, co-founder and CEO of Coastline Academy.
