For new drivers in Colorado, you may be trying to get everything in order as you prepare to get your driver's license. However, you may be wondering how many hours of driving lessons does Colorado require? Find out that answer below!

The Answer: 56 Hours!

In Colorado, the first step in getting your drivers license to complete a Drivers Ed course. From there, you will need to head to your local DMV office and take a written test to earn a Minor Instruction Permit.

Once you have your permit, if you are younger than 16 years and 6 months, then you must take six hours of professional driving instruction while practicing for 50 hours and holding your permit for 12 months. Of those 50 hours, 10 of them must be done at night.

After meeting that criteria, then you can take the behind-the-wheel driving test at the DMV to earn a Minor License. That license is good for 20 days after you turn 21 years old. You would then need to go to a DMV office to get an Adult License.
