Behind-The-Wheel Driving Requirements For Nevada
If you are applying to get your driver's license and live in the state of Nevada, there are certain steps you need to take before getting that license. When thinking about the driver's training process in Nevada, many teens and their parents want to know how many hours of behind-the-wheel training is needed in Nevada. We address those behind-the-wheel driving requirements below!
Behind-The Wheel Drivers Training
After completing the 30-hour Driver's Ed course in Nevada, you are now eligible to apply for your Instruction Permit. To get this permit, you would need to pass the vision and written test. Once passed, you will be issued the Instruction Permit and now you can officially start driving!
As far as the behind-the-wheel training goes, you must hold your instruction permit for at least six months and you must complete 50 hours of behind-the-wheel training (10 hours at night) under the supervision of a licensed driver who is at least 21 years old and has had their license for at least one year, per the Nevada DMV.
Nevada does not make it mandatory for students to complete behind-the-wheel training hours with a professional instructor. However, for your safety and for the safety of the drivers around you, we recommend taking lessons with an experienced instructor, which Coastline offers here.
Are Driving Lessons Required In Nevada?
As each state is different, Nevada does not require new drivers to complete behind-the-wheel driving lessons with a professional instructor. However, you will have to take and pass a road test at the DMV in order to get your driver's license. To be fully prepared for that test, we recommend taking lessons with an experienced instructor, which Coastline offers here.
Once you have the 50 driving practice hours completed and held your permit for six months, you will be able to head to the Nevada DMV and take your behind-the-wheel drive test to obtain your full driver's license!
