California Reopening: What Does That Mean For COVID-19 Protocols At Coastline Academy?
Updated October 14, 2022: New mask policy has been put in place, so click here to read.
COVID-19 definitely turned the world upside down in 2020. With most of the country shutting down last year, there were a lot of unknowns and what ifs. However, with California reopening today, here's what that means for Coastline Academy and the COVID-19 protocols we had in place.
Changes To Protocols
During this past year, we have all had to adapt to keep ourselves and those around us safe. Coastline Academy put in place many protocols to keep both our instructors and our students safe during the driving lessons. With California reopening, we are making some changes, but some best practices will continue to stay in place for the time being.
Mask requirements are remaining in place for a number of other industries, including public transportation. We believe this is still an important way to keep everyone safe, regardless of vaccination status. Effective June 15, our policy changes are as follows:
- Self-certification (both students and instructors) will no longer be required.
- Parent/guardian observers are allowed in the vehicle for the driving lesson, as long as they are wearing a mask and in the same bubble as the student.
Vaccinations
At Coastline Academy, we support and encourage our instructors to get vaccinated. While we have been able to help ensure our instructors are getting vaccinated as promptly as possible, we don't comment on the vaccination status of individual instructors. With that in mind, the procedures we have in place (masks and cleaning protocols) are designed to ensure the safest possible learning environment for both instructors and students.
We are not only grateful to our team, but also our students and parents in working with us to get through this pandemic together. As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to our friendly support staff and make sure to book your driving lesson today.
