AP Driving School in Orange County, CA has closed. Coastline Academy is offering AP families two ways to finish behind the wheel training and get back on track.

Who we are

Coastline Academy is not part of AP. We're an established driving school serving Irvine, Orange County, and all of California, and we've offered to help AP students who were left without a way to finish their training.

Your two options

• Option 1: Transfer your unused hours. We'll honor the prepaid lesson hours you had with AP at no additional cost to you. In return, you agree not to seek a refund from AP for those hours. Lessons you've already completed with AP will count toward your certificate of completion.
• A note on your hours: at Coastline, the DMV test appointment is a 3-hour lesson, compared with 2 hours at AP. That extra time is warm-up before the driving test. If you AP package included a DMV test, your Coastline account will show one more hour than AP's records did.
• Option 2: Start fresh at 30% off. If you've already received or requested a refund from AP, or would rather start fresh, you can sign up with Coastline at 30% off. Prior hours don't carry over, so you'll need to purchase and complete at least 3 lessons with us to receive a certificate of completion.
• Both options are available until December 31, 2026.

FAQ

Is Coastline taking over AP Driving School?

No. Coastline is a separate school. AP has closed, and we've offered to help its students finish their training.

How do you know how many hours I have left?

We'll match your form against AP's student records. If the hours you report don't match, a member of our team will work through it with you.

What if I already got a refund from AP, or disputed the charge?

Choose Option 2. Option 1 is only for hours that haven't been refunded.

I have a DMV test coming up. What should I do?

Include your test date on the form. We'll contact families with the soonest test dates first.

Will my lessons with AP count toward my certificate?

With Option 1, yes. With Option 2, prior hours don't carry over, and you'll need to complete at least 3 lessons with us.

Can I request a refund from AP?

Please contact AP directly with refund questions. Coastline can't help with AP's accounts or payments.

How soon will I hear from you?

Within 2 business days of completing the form.

Can I keep my AP instructor?

Some former AP instructors may be joining Coastline, but we can't promise you'll be matched with the same instructor.
