If you are between 15 and 17½ years old, you must pass a state-approved Drivers Ed course and receive your completion certificate before taking your written test at the DMV.

Driving lessons in La Honda offer a unique opportunity to learn in a quiet, rural environment. The serene, forested setting is characterized by winding, two-lane roads, providing an excellent place to master steering control, speed management on hills, and navigating curves without the pressure of heavy traffic. This peaceful backdrop helps new drivers build confidence and solid fundamental skills.
Once comfortable with the basics, students will gain valuable experience on key local routes like CA-84 and CA-35 (Skyline Boulevard). These roads introduce challenges that prepare learners for a variety of driving conditions found throughout San Mateo County. Practicing routes toward the coast near Pescadero or inland toward Woodside helps build adaptability for different types of rural and semi-rural travel.
We offer flexible pickup and drop-off at home, school, or work when available. To accommodate various schedules, some lessons may begin at convenient meeting points in the area, which will be shown once you start searching availability.
