Before you can take your written test at PENNDOT, you'll need to be 16 years old. Pass your test to receive your Learner's Permit.
While optional in Pennsylvania, we highly recommend taking at least one driving lesson with a professional instructor.
Before you can take your road test, you must log 65 hours of driving practice, including 10 hours at night and five (5) hours of bad weather driving.

Driving lessons in Media provide a perfect environment for building fundamental skills. Students can master the basics, like handling intersections and parallel parking, on the borough's grid of local streets. This foundational practice builds the confidence needed to safely navigate the more varied traffic found in the surrounding suburban neighborhoods, focusing on smooth control and keen situational awareness.
As skills advance, lessons progress to busier routes such as US-1 or PA-252. Here, students learn to manage higher speeds, merge safely, and handle more complex interchanges. Applying these abilities on a drive toward nearby Swarthmore or Springfield helps solidify their confidence and prepares them for the diverse driving conditions they will encounter throughout the region.
We offer flexible pickup and drop-off at home, school, or work when available. To accommodate various schedules, some lessons may begin at convenient meeting points in the area, which will be shown once you start searching availability.
