Steps to Getting Your License

Before you can take your written test at PENNDOT, you'll need to be 16 years old. Pass your test to receive your Learner's Permit.
While optional in Pennsylvania, we highly recommend taking at least one driving lesson with a professional instructor.
Before you can take your road test, you must log 65 hours of driving practice, including 10 hours at night and five (5) hours of bad weather driving.
After holding your permit for at least 6 months, you can take your road test. Want to skip the line at PENNDOT? Take your test with us!

Driving lessons in Montgomeryville are designed to build a complete skill set for navigating its distinct road environments. Students begin by mastering the fundamentals of vehicle control, such as smooth turning and stopping, in quiet residential neighborhoods. Once confident with the basics, lessons progress to handling the busy commercial corridors and complex intersections common in the area, focusing on developing keen situational awareness and defensive driving techniques in moderate traffic.
As skills advance, students will gain experience on major routes like PA-309 and US-202. Practicing on these roads is essential for learning to merge correctly, manage higher speeds, and navigate multi-lane traffic safely.
