Bring your completion certificate to the DPS and pass your written test to receive your learner's permit
Complete Behind-the Wheel Training
Complete 44 hours of parent-led behind-the-wheel training to receive your behind-the-wheel completion certificate
Complete ITTD Course
Complete the state required Impact Texas Teen Drivers (ITTD) Course

Driving lessons in Sonterra are designed to build a strong foundation of essential skills. Students first master fundamentals like smooth acceleration and turning on quiet residential streets. This calm setting is ideal for practicing parking and building confidence before advancing to busier roads. The focus is on developing core abilities in a structured, low-stress environment.
As skills progress, lessons move to major routes like US-281. This experience is crucial for learning to merge safely, manage higher speeds, and anticipate other drivers. Such practical training prepares students for real-world trips, whether to nearby Hollywood Park or through the region’s complex interchanges, building true situational awareness.
We offer flexible pickup and drop-off at home, school, or work when available. To accommodate various schedules, some lessons may begin at convenient meeting points in the area, which will be shown once you start searching availability.
Our goal is to empower each student with defensive driving techniques for a lifetime of safe travel. We focus on turning lessons into lasting habits, ensuring new drivers feel capable and confident facing everyday traffic situations on their own.
