Steps to Getting Your License
Use this guide to make sure you are in the right place in your licensing journey.
Apply online to receive your Washington Driver License (WDL) number. You'll need it to enroll in driver training or schedule testing.
Teens must complete a 34-hour driver education classroom course.
Complete five hours of driving and 1 hour of observation with a licensed driving instructor
Pass the knowledge exam to earn your instruction permit.
Hold your permit for at least six months and log 50 hours of driving practice with your parent or guardian, including at least 10 hours at night.
Once you meet all practice requirements and are at least 16, take and pass the road test to earn your first Washington driver license.

As learners become more proficient, they will practice on busier local arteries like WA-9. Mastering these routes prepares students for practical, everyday trips to nearby commercial centers in Lake Stevens and Snohomish, exposing them to different road layouts and traffic patterns.
We offer flexible pickup and drop-off at home, school, or work when available. To accommodate various schedules, some lessons may begin at convenient meeting points in the area, which will be shown once you start searching availability.
