Pass written test at PENNDOT
Before you can take your written test at PENNDOT, you'll need to be 16 years old. Pass your test to receive your Learner's Permit.
Take driving lessons
While optional in Pennsylvania, we highly recommend taking at least one driving lesson with a professional instructor.
Log your practice hours
Before you can take your road test, you must log 65 hours of driving practice, including 10 hours at night and five (5) hours of bad weather driving.
Take your Road Test & Get your Junior License
After holding your permit for at least 6 months, you can take your road test. Want to skip the line at PENNDOT? Take your test with us!

Driving lessons in Oreland provide a perfect setting for building core driving skills. Students begin by mastering the fundamentals on quiet, residential streets, focusing on smooth steering, controlled braking, and understanding right-of-way at local intersections. This calm environment allows new drivers to build a strong foundation and gain confidence behind the wheel before progressing to more challenging traffic scenarios.
Once comfortable with the basics, lessons expand to include navigating busier local roads and state routes like PA-309. This practical experience teaches students how to safely merge, manage speed, and anticipate the actions of other drivers in heavier traffic. Practicing these skills on routes toward nearby Glenside prepares them for real-world driving and builds the competence needed for independent trips.
We offer flexible pickup and drop-off at home, school, or work when available. To accommodate various schedules, some lessons may begin at convenient meeting points in the area, which will be shown once you start searching availability.
